Notes: Native to eastern Europe these vibrant red flowering perennials resemble strawberry plants that are actually related to roses. Great as an easy care, long blooming plant in beds borders and rock gardens. Makes a vibrant contrast to white or yellow flowering plants. Evergreen in warm climates. 2nd year bloomer worth waiting for.


Instructions: Sow 1 to 2 mm deep. Germination is 14 to 21 days.

Echinacea - A bouquet sweet scent fills a room and the birds love the seed heads in winter garden. Echinacea is reputed to increase the bodies resistance to infection and colds. Scented, deer resistant ,drought tolerant and attracts beneficial insects. Striking purple daisy like flowers with orange and golden  brown central cones.  A very frost hardy plant that likes full sun and fertile soil and will provide abundant cut-flowers once established.   Foxglove Mix - This  variety produces spires of white and pink tubular florets with vividly speckled throats. Flowers 1st year from early sowing fall sowing. Plants are hardy bi-ennials. Useful in a wild flower garden as it self sows easily. Ancients  founded the medicinal uses that are still used today in the treatment of heart problems. Hummingbirds love the early and late blooms. Cut flowering stems down to the ground to encourage second spikes.   Bee Balm - A slow spreading plant that has a great aroma. Sprinkle its leaves and flowers in fruit salads. Good plant for poor, well drained soil. It has a unique flowering habit, funky seed heads which makes it a gorgeous as a cut flower. Butterflies and hummingbirds love this plant and it is drought tolerant and deer resistant. Note that the bergamot herb is not the source of bergamot oil.
