Lettuce - Oak Leaf

Notes: A vigorous grower that adds visual appeal to salads with ornate, deeply lobed, oak leaf shaped leaves. This is a cool-season variety but will do well in warmer months if you sow some every 2 to 3 weeks, provide part shade, even moisture and pick often.

Instructions: Sow 2 mm deep. Direct seed when earth can be worked.

Cabbage - Called All Seasons because of its cold and heat resistance this variety produces large 10-11   Spinach -Red Mountain Orach - Adds texture, colour and flavour to salads. Red Mountain Spinach can grow to 5 or 6 feet making it an attractive edible plant whose succulent leaves do not bitter if they bolt. Produces a beautiful bloom, so if you're able, let one bolt on purpose. The seed provided by the plant will attract beneficial birds and insects to your garden as well as provide you with an attractive conversation piece. Grows best in a sunny and well-drained location. Sow seed directly when earth can be worked and temperatures and after the last frost. The leaves are extremely tender when harvested young.
Dutch Broadleaf Cress - Quick growing, cold hardy salad green similar to watercress. You can harvest the large, glossy globed shaped leaves in only 1 month. Leaves have a peppery flavour and are high in Vitamin C making them an excellent addition in mixed salads and sandwiches. Self-sows if left to go to seed.
