Delphinium Mixed Colors


Notes: This mix is full of deep and pastel colour. Cut the flowers to encourage more blooms. Hummingbirds and Bees love the rich colour and nectar of these show stoppers. Delphinium makes a stunning statement in any garden or bouquet.


Instructions: Sow 3 mm deep in early Spring indoors or you can direct sow when all chance of frost has passed. Once established mulch to insulate, provide nutrients and to mark the area when the plant dies back into the ground. Easy to grow. Deadhead only after the flowers and parts of the plant have died back. Doing this too early robs the perennial of its chance to reabsorb the nutrients from its leaves which it stores back into the root system providing abundant energy for next seasons splendour. Germinates 7 to 21 days. to 21 days.


Habitat: Well drained moist soil in full sun.

Evening Primrose - Native to Eastern North America this easy growing plant has yellow, slightly phosphorescent flowers with a modest lemon scent that open in the evenings.All parts of this plant are edible; flowers as a salad garnish, leaves cooked as greens and the roots boiled like potatoes. Provides flowers from summer to frost.   Lychnis Maltese Cross - Striking red 3-inch flower globes against bright green, lance shaped leaves, borne on stiffly erect stems. Plant in masses for the optimum wow factor.   Lychnis - This perennial forms dense clumps of silver-white foliage and multi-branched, gray-green stems and produces masses of deep to moderate pink blooms for much of the summer. They are very drought tolerant and are known to be deer resistant.
